lyncūrĭon or -ĭum, ii, n., = lunkourion, a hard, transparent gem, which, according to the opinion of the ancients, was formed of lynxes' urine; prob. the hyacinth or tourmaline, Plin. 8, 38, 57, § 137; 37, 2, 11, § 34; 37, 3, 13, § 52; cf.
